Marigold Strategy collaborated with the Rebus Foundation to co-develop a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with Rebus' mission of promoting open, equitable education. Through our partnership, we helped Rebus identify strategic priorities such as growing leaderful cultures, expanding partnerships beyond postsecondary institutions, and advocating for systemic change. This also includes a new vision, mission and values, a detailed work plan, and new organizational chart and job descriptions. This work has empowered Rebus to strengthen its operations and broaden its impact in the global education ecosystem, positioning the organization to foster community-driven innovation and advance equitable access to knowledge for all learners.

Marigold Strategy partnered with Code for Society to develop and implement their 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, driving impactful outcomes through a focus on sustainability, equity, and innovation. By collaborating closely with leadership and stakeholders, we helped shape a clear roadmap for growth that enhances governance, strengthens community engagement, and expands the organization’s capacity to create long-term, systemic change. The strategic plan now positions Code for Society to scale its initiatives and accelerate its mission of using technology for the public good. It resulted in a new vision, mission and values, a clear plan infused with race, equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion, a detailed work plan, and increased Board members engagement as ambassadors for the strategic plan and organization.

Youth Communication (YC) amplifies youth stories and empowers young people to achieve their personal and academic goals. They are committed to teens of color and other young adults whose voices need to be heard.
Their curricula and professional development – uniquely based on original true stories by YC teens – enable schools and other youth-serving organizations to create supportive, culturally responsive learning communities.

Marigold Strategy partnered with Youth Communication to facilitate a transformative Board retreat, grounded in insights from confidential staff and Board interviews that identified key strengths and challenges. Through this process, we provided actionable recommendations to enhance Board engagement and effectiveness. The in-person retreat fostered increased trust and alignment on strategy, equipping the Board with the tools to support Youth Communication's mission more effectively. We delivered a final memo outlining key takeaways and recommendations to guide ongoing Board development and strategic decision-making

The Foundation underwent a massive transformation seeking to center diversity, equity, and inclusion including a shift in board structure, membership, and leadership; and a move to values-aligned impact investing. Marigold Strategy worked to align its external presence including its vision, mission, values, programmatic guidelines, and organizational structure with the internal shift to prioritizes movement-building, long-term general operating grants, and funding groups led by and serving Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

The Foundation funds across 5 key areas: Arts, Reproductive Justice, Democracy, Environmental & Climate Justice, and Strengthening New York Communities.

Urban Resource Institute helps transform the lives of domestic violence survivors and homeless families, with a focus on communities of color and other vulnerable populations. We have deepened our impact and become the largest provider of domestic violence shelter services in the U.S. Our holistic approach encompasses innovative prevention and intervention programs and direct services.
